WHY WE BUILT HIKE BYTES INSIDER
It all started from a simple hiking frustration
“We kept getting inspired by places we couldn't figure out how to actually find.”
Hike Bytes Insider started with a simple frustration. We'd watch an incredible adventure video, get completely hooked on some hidden waterfall or off-trail swim hole — and then have almost no real way to find it. General directions and a few verbal cues only get you so far once you're standing at a confusing junction in the middle of nowhere.
So we decided to change that. Visual guidance is wonderful, but it isn't enough out in the field. And with today's tools, we can go a lot further — exact coordinates, custom GPS route lines, and offline navigation that works right where cell service doesn't.
Now every Hike Bytes adventure is built to take you from watching to actually finding it — boots-on-the-ground custom navigation for the off-trail and hard-to-reach places, so you can experience them the same way we have. And because so many of these spots are seasonal, we tell you the best windows to go, too.
